The smallest of Tokyo’s wards, Taito manages to pack a lot inside its perimeters and always keeps up with some of Tokyo’s most exciting events and attractions.The districts name literally means “Plateau East”, a very special ward located in Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. In English, it is known as Taitō City. Taito includes Asakusa, Ueno, Yanaka, Asakusabashi, Kappabashi, and Ameyok. There are also many must-see places, such as Senso-ji Temple, Hanayashiki, art and history museums, and the World Heritage Site, the National Museum of Western Art. There are always major events in each season in Taito. In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom (Ueno Park is the best place to view cherry blossoms in Tokyo!), while in summer, a fireworks festival is held at Sumida River. When it turns cold, sukiyaki is a delicious dish to enjoy. Many restaurants can also serve halal foods for Muslims!
Taito is one of the 23rd special wards of Tokyo, house of two major stations of Tokyo, Ueno and Nippori. It includes the main JR Yamanote Line that commutes all over Tokyo, but also many public transportation lines and network. There are eleven lines crossing the ward, including the famous Ginza, Asakusa and Skytree lines leading very the popular tourist destinations.
